So the past 2 weeks have been crazy. My mom is in the hospital (she went in on April 25) for cellulitis and kidney stones. She's had kidney stones pretty continuously for over a decade. I could share her medical history on here and it would amaze you, but I won't. Needless to say, I haven't had time to post because everyday after work, I go to the hospital to sit with her and visit until I come home and go to bed. And do it all again the next day and the day after that, etc. I'm getting worn out, which gives me cause to reflect. One of my previous posts I talked about doing what you can to reduce stress. Her almost 2 weeks in the hospital gives me lots of stress. Her health is not great, and that worries me. So what can I do to help her out? I try to figure out what we can change in her life once she comes back from the hospital so she can regain her health and strength. I try to suggest things to her, like talking to a dietitian to establish a plan and regimen for eating, but then she should also have a physical therapist and then trainer to help her get her body in good working condition again. She was weighed at the hospital when she was admitted and she weighs 340 lbs. I need to do what I can to help her save her life. She says pool exercises are good for her, but then when it comes to getting out of the pool, the pain is almost unbearable when she walks out of the pool. Her lymph system in her legs is practically destroyed from the cellulitis infection that she's had for over 7 years. Compared with her health and wellness, my health/wellness concerns seem so trivial. I know they're not, because I need to be worried about myself too. But it's hard, when hers is more life-threatening than mine. If any of you have any suggestions for what we can do, please share them. Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I need to have my mom in my life.
Have a good, fit, and fabulous day!
